Ryokan
This inn is in the grounds of Eiheiji Temple, built by Dogen Zenji in the Kamakura period. A 400-year-old wooden gong shaped like a fish decorates the entrance. All guest rooms are hybrid rooms with the same floor plan. The bathrooms have a shower booth only, but you can relax in the large communal bathing facility. We recommend the Shojin ryori for dinner. Being able to experience Zen meditation as if you were in a temple guesthouse is a unique offering.
